Our restored Shepherd’s Hut (circa 1880) is an independent unit for self-catered glamping-lovers. It is set in a small private area of the garden, separate from our house, shielded by a row of nut trees. The Hut is insulated and electrically heated. Please note that the double bed in the Shepherds’ hut is only 6’1” long, and taller guests will have to bend their knees in bed! Below the bed are 2 storage areas. Sheets and towels are included. The hut is provided with an electric kettle, microwave and small fridge, crockery and cutlery, and limited pots and pans. There is a small fold-away table. Inside a corner cupboard of the Shepherds Hut is a small-screen HD smart TV (Internet TV only at present), and WiFi / broadband is available. (Download speeds of about 45mps are variable and not always good enough for smooth streaming - the Shepherd’s hut is a Victorian iron box on wheels!) Separate from the Hut is a basic covered “camp kitchen” with a twin burner / grill camping gas stove, and a small outside wood-burner / barbecue is provided for self-caterers - probably best suited to summer visitors. Outside the camp kitchen is a mains tap. The patio garden has a table and 2 chairs for outside dining. In the garage opposite is a small freezer for your sole use on top of a washing machine, which is shared with the Annexe above. A short walk along a path is your own shower and WC, with underfloor heating. The hot water tank is a little small, and a short break between 2 showers is recommended. . Well-behaved dogs are welcome.
Tea, coffee and milk are provided. We do not offer cooked breakfasts, but If you choose not to self-cater, we can provide a light breakfast of yoghurt, cereals, croissants / bread rolls, butter and preserves etc delivered to the Sepherd's Hut at a modest extra charge, Please let us know in advance if you would like this option.
There is ample parking available, and we have an EV charging point at around 27p/kW
